Illuminating letters: notes from the bird table
An illustrated guide to our feathered neighbours
Dear reader,
Like every 30-something with the luxury of access to a garden, I love taking a minute to try to spot feathered visitors. But I know very little about who’s who, so I thought I’d do some research and share my findings with you.
In sharing my notebook, I wanted to bring back the mini-page format I tried in my pebble hunting zine. That does mean the only way this one can be read is in print, so I’m trying a something a bit different with this newsletter…
I’ll be honest and say I’ve not been on top form printing this one. In trying to rectify some print issues in the first copies I printed, I made a mistake that’s meant that the back cover is a repeated page. But instead of printing again (waaay to expensive) and stressing about it, I’ve decided to embrace the DIY nature of zines and sell this first batch at a discounted rate that just covers printing costs. I still think it’s a lovely zine for any bird lovers out there just with twice the love for the top ten birds.
You can pick up a copy for just £3 in my store.
Write / draw again soon,
Natalie

Absolutely love this one! Beautiful illustrations and the cut-outs and inserts are fantastic.
Very beautiful. My bad eyes can’t penetrate without awkward enlarging. Which makes me say the following: surprised someone hasn’t yet invented a zine creating and viewing app. But it’s the memory of hands integrated into its very being, that makes it beautiful, so I say that reluctantly. Your witness to birds, backyards, and hands. Is quite loving and lovely. Thank you. ❣️
