I would also suggest an illustation based on Topics, broadly perhaps?
Would be more useful than whether its fiction or paperback or whatever.
Sherlock Holmes is fiction, so is Tale of Two Cities, so is 50 Shades of Grey, as is Foundation, and so on - in terms of impact (not success), there are vast differences.
Ditto for non-fiction.
There is a difference between a political memoir, a self-help book, a business book etc., no?
(Substack comments are shit at formatting. Ugh!)

Also, Noted your reference to BIPOC and the 'flattening' part. (that might be the longer part of the comment!)

I have to say, I find it amusing that 90% of the World gets filed under "Coloureds" / "BIPOC" while "White" people (less than 10% of Humans) get their own "Separate Term".
It is almost implies some humans are "Special". No?
Calling the Majority of the World as "Coloureds" i.e., POC really comes off as just a fancy redesignation of "less than".
This is not a dig at you - but at the term - which you also indicate some discomfort with.
I would suggest exploring more terms than BIPOC.
Perhaps Majority of the Earth or maybe the Decolonised might be terms to think of.
Something that would contain both Historical and non-skin/race-focused attention.
I love the data visuals it really brings the information to life.
Thanks! They were fun to make - I want to start doing more with infographics
Nice graphs.
